My grand father had a gas meter in his front room and you put one of the old pennies in it ( later updated to the smaller 5p ones ) , you put the penny in and wound the dial on the front around until it dropped to the bottom , how long it lasted for ? , that I couldn't tell you.

Also in his little front room was a stuffed Gannet set up in a glass box with a sea scene in the back ground , he was a cook on the Herring drifters and I believe it came to grief diving in the nets after the Herring . rummon how you can remember these little things and then forget your wife's birthday :lol:

Worked out to perfection Grandalf , tell yer , you cant believe everything they say about people living in Suffolk , or can you :hmm:          :lol:
