KOFs

    Recommended Posts

I’m looking at a KOFs for my lad but finding it hard to get any weight info on them for the junior models.

Has anyone got a junior 28bore or 410 they could weight for me.  Hoping the 28b will be light enough for him if their not well we see.

I thought the opposite and bought the Yildiz.

I have a 20b junior model they come with 26 inch barrels and a 13 inch pull

It very light and i agree with the above seems better made than the yildiz .and more fetures for less money .

I was gonna get a 28b .but no where near me sells the carts so a total dead end idea .just get a 20 b and shoot lighter loads .

A 25 grm load in a 28b will kick a fair bit more than the same load in a 20b.

Thank you got a little bit of experience of coaching juniors and I’ll not be buying a 20 bore. 21g is as light as a 20 bore load goes, a 28 bore shoots 16g and I don’t buy a 28 bore to shot 25g 20 bore loads.

it says 28 bore is 5lb 6oz with 14.5" stock so probably a couple of ounces less with shorter stock

    https://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/shotgun/kofs-sceptre-sxe-28-bore

Thanks but other reviews quote 6lbs 2oz 6lbs 4oz for the 28 bore so was after an actual weight as something is off.

Be sure to try the triggers on Kofs as they have a reputation for being very heavy and not easy to adjust. I looked at buying one in 28 bore/youth stocked for my vertically challenged wife but after trying the trigger I very quickly changed my mind and bought a Yildiz instead.

Out of interest the comb height of the Kofs is higher than the Yildiz, and my wife's youth 28 Yildiz as weighed just now is 5lb 10oz.

I have the Yildiz 28 bore o/u. Very pleased with it so far ( 2months)  Although as mentioned by dasher, the comb came up low for me aswell. Just experimenting with a bear tooth comb raiser before anything permanent.

to be fair i only held it and handled it i havent actually shot the KOFS . I have shot the yildiz and apart from the lack of ejectors and the agricultural safety it handed really well and I liked it

We tried one for my son was ok but he couldn't operate the top lever it was so stiff. Bought a webley and Scott 928 which is smooth as butter.

The youth model I bought just before Christmas has ejectors which was a surprise for £495.

I had a look at a Kofs 20g a few weeks ago and liked the feel and fit, and would have brought it had I not opened the gun. The top chamber was lined with rust 😲 so no sale.

Some interesting reviews and weight for the KOFs with junior stock.

Hope the triggers are not to heavy for the little ones.

Trigger on mine is sweet .

Opens and closes lovley .falls open and clicks back in place nicely.

Its light and well balanced .and i can hit what i aim at and kill it .

    Er 🤔. I like it a lot .

As WW, I also would like to know the weights and also what's the cast like on these?

Looking for something with very little or no cast so the girls, left & right handed, can use.

Also thought about fitting a comb raiser to make it fully adjustable.
