Educational DVDs

Part of my daily routine involves sitting on an exercise bike in front of a large telly.

I have long since watched every film worth watching (and probably 95% of the critically acclaimed films on the Netflix list which is my top tip of what to watch first), then I moved into documentaries and am now looking for anything vaguely useful in the real world.

I've nearly got through all the DVDs done by Rob Parsons (I attended a 2 hour lecture of his when I first qualified and I learnt more in those 2 hours about management and life than I had in the previous 4 years) and he lectures on relationships, life, parenting and business.

So, any ideas or tips of what I can watch next on DVD - it has to be DVD to pick it up and put it down in 45 min chunks.

I'd even have a stab at a foreign language (etc) - the DVD presentation does however have to be engaging.

Cheers all.

Buy a bike and look at the real world.   Better than any DVD.

Having seen Mungler's Gluteus maximus as he is walking away from you, covered up i must add, (which is his way of saying how boring you are) I would not suggest the he takes up cycling on the queens highway. And i take my hat off to you sir for trying, well done:yes:

Your going to loose more calories watching a decent soft porn movie than any documentary, unless is about the reproductive activities of Jessica Rabbit.

So I get home from a day’s hard graft and see a page full of comments; I’m thinking ‘great, someone’s offering up a personal recommendation of a quality educational based DVD fronted by the most amazing and engaging presenter and probably some other useful recommendations and tips thrown in’.

Yes I thought, on pure numbers and stats alone there’s got to be some nugget of gold and a decent steer in the right direction and which is right up my street.

I think I better check again when I get back from work tomorrow tonight 😝😝

Have you tried pedalling it yet?

😂

Joking aside, have you exhausted the plethora of shooting vids on YouTube yet? There are some very good boxed sets on iplayer, on all manner of topics, and some equally good series on Netflix.

I’m pretty sure YouTube has some educational vids too ( building a 4x4 was a favourite of mine ) but not sure of their running times.

As an aside, some mates of mine who take their cycling and fitness quite seriously have their bikes coupled up to actual ‘routes’ with all the relevant gradients, corners, traffic etc, which are displayed on their tv or monitor. Not sure if this appeals or not ( personally lubing up ones genitals doesn't appeal......well not for cycling purposes anyhow ! ) but they’re certainly fit lads.

Trouble with this is that a sharp downhill corner would come up just as he is tucking into his bacon bap and he'd crash and probably go through the patio doors 😂
