Buy a cheap remmigton express in.22 and let me know how you get on. In fact if you want a cheap express, coincidentally, I can sell you one.

As standard, a piece of junk. Stuck a tbt kit in mine. A few other things. 2-300 shots later, shoots lovely now. Of all the dozens of airguns ive owned or shot, its in my top 3.

If you like messing with a springer have this one above.

In which case I shall consider mine in a fresh light.

I would. Bit of polishing, tbt kit light smear of moly grease. Mines at about 11ftlb and its so smooth. Ive had a LOT of airguns, and this gun i use 90% time. Its not the most accurate, your 99s and 80 might be better (at the end of the day it is a rebadged smk) but im happy banging ferals at 40 yards and tin cans at 80 with enough hold over

There is a 3% margin on the 12ft pound limit, my air arms S510k was chrono'd at 12.3 and was deemed legal by the police as well as the gunsmith. Currently the laws are being looked into and a new strategy of test kind of like 1 specific type of pellet weight over a spread of 5 shots then work out the average. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

I haven't read all this post to be honest, as I just noticed it and need to get off the computer. Other things to do.

But if not already mentioned, there is a RFD, think his name is T R Robb or similar, who specialises in HW 80 ' s.

Taking it to gun shop monday. Says if its vastly overpowered he'l sort it or buy it if i want. He said if its only slightly over with the first pellet he fires he'l leave it because springers go stiff when sat for a few days then lose about 10% power after bieng used 2 or 3 times.

Hello, I would not trust that gun shop with a pea shooter, talking rubbish!

Hello, you have shown aptitude on what you have done on your HW 80 and state it shoots like a dream 🤔 now the question is has this work taken the rifle over 12 ft lb 🤔 ? Now your looking for a cheap springer to tinker with or a better word tune up, like your HW 80, plenty to choose from, buying new would void warranty but most do not worry, the one I have seen get good reviews is that Remington express, cheap enough to buy new, when you decide put up photos etc of the tuning process as we like to see on PW
