la bala
One for the Aborologists. One of my grandchildren grew this from a conker. Its the saplings second year in the ground. I was looking at it today and noticed this green type growth on it. Could anyone enlighten me to what it is, is it harmful to the tree? is there a spray i can use to get rid. Be grateful for any info thanks.

Walker570
Yep, just healthy lichen. Keep an eye out for any strange seepage as chestnuts have a disease at the moment which causes that, but usually in old er trees. Now get the youngster to set a couple more tree seeds. If you want to try a walnut let me know around October time and I will send some. I could send some now but believe you have to plant them as near the time they sheed from the tree as possible. Nice to see , well done that youngster. Edited February 13, 2019 by Walker570
