bornfree
Check the insurance costs. I sold my wife's 2001 Corsa to a young boy and because it was a Corsa b rather than a Corsa c it cost £500 extra to insure.

Westley
My Grandaughter at 18 has just got her first car, a Fiat 500. My Son in Law is a tight Bas......careful with his money and I have no doubt he will have done his homework regarding running costs !

RockySpears
My daughter's first car was an 800cc, 3 cylinder Daewoo Matiz, £700. Lasted until she decided that the screeching sound could not become overcome by the stereo. Oil would have sufficed, but Birkbrow got there first, Keep it cheap, keep the insurance below the cost of the car, RS

I get phenomenal mpg, parts are cheap, mine has done 80k + and bar the rear brake cylinders it’s been amazing. Not the fastest car, but it’s good enough. In the NCAP it rates the same as the Honda jazz. Only down side was rear head restraints are not standard! But I love the thing. And would have, (will have) another when this one is traded in.,
