Beretta 687 Question

Beretta specialists required.

I have both a 12b & 20b 687.

My 12b is late 1980's & the 20b a bit 'younger'.

I would like a 28b to add to my collection.

The questions is...do i need to buy a complete gun or could I just buy 28b barrels & they would fit onto the 20b action?

I'm not sure how I would find out if older 20b / 28b's did have different scaled actions.

Appreciate any help with this.

Regards

Steve

I would think not but GMK would tell you, they might want the serial number of the 20.       Even if you did you would probably have a gun that was stock heavy,  ie the point of balance moved back behind the hinge pin.   Not in my book an ideal situation.

I had no issues with an additional set of 12 barrels on my 12,   the set the gun came with were a bit tight and I wanted some a bit more open for early season use.  The second set came from a 686.  As an aside these HAVE to be on your ticket as a separate item,   just make sure the records at Police HQ say a barrel set only.   My licence did but their records said a whole gun,  that did not get picked up till my next renewal.

Beretta did do early 28's on 20 bore action but not for a long time. They have been on dedicated 28 actions for some time now. Call GMK and said already give serial No. and can help better.  This came apparent to me when I bought a stock for a 28. I was asked by the workshop what action was it. So yes there was some with 20 bore actions.
