Passive Ear Protection

Thinking about getting some custom fit passive ear protection, as I cannot afford electronic. I see that both Boots and Specsavers do ear protection for shooters. Anyone got any dealings with either and what are they like. Thanks in advance.

i think the Decibullz you have to mould yourself,  "Custom Fit Guards" send you to an audiologist to have some impressions taken of your ears,  then you post them to Custom Fit Guards were  they mould them out of medical grade Silicone and insert the passive component, the whole process only took 3 weeks

Not Sure, about Boots or Specsavers, but I bought some from Custom Fit Guards for £89, used them Saturday on the pigeons and they worked a treat, I can easily hold a conversation, and they can be worn all day.

Whats the SNR on those - the website is a tad lacking in actual information....

not sure what the NSR is but i was next to someone shooting 42g 4s and  it felt  fine, just as good as my cans

They do look tidy I will admit, and reasonably priced.

How does the valve thing work? Is it just a thinner silicon flap?

I bought some custom moulded passive ones and to be honest I never use them. Howard Leigh max are far more comfortable for me and more effective. Even then I use those for the motorcycle and shoot with protacs.

I’ve had three sets of moulds done and for me the plugs were a waste of cash. I would try a good range of earplugs and only if nothing works well for you spend on the expensive stuff.
