Walker570
A short notice supper for some friends who where having some construction work on their home making cooking a chore prompted this improvement on the good old trifle for dessert. I happened to have a pack of Bakers individual Bakewell tarts ... I dmit to being addicted to them. My wife said she would make a trifle but did not have any sponge cakes for the base so I suggested the Bakwells. Laid these in the bottom of the bowl a drizzle of sherry, some jelly..the choice is yours and a tub or two of Greggs fruit cocktail, covered with custarrd, then double whipping cream and a sprinkle of almonds or walnuts. They devoured the lot !!! Non left over for me today !!! It was awesome, the fruit and flavours of the Bakewells worked extremely well. Can recommend. Walker570
We tend to use the shop bought Bakewells as seen in the photo. One packet makes a nice trifle.
