Recommended Posts

out shooting some rape last spring i dropped a pigeon in the trees behind me i had been there 2 hours this is what i found when i went to retrieve. Luckily i had some heavy wire cutters in the car.caught by the back leg between top 2 wires on an old fence safely released.

Well done, :good:

over the years I have seen a couple of deer (Roe) trapped by wire, each time they went berserk when we got close to them, I am amazed at how calm that deer is.

Its unbelievable the amount of rubbish dumped in woods and pit holes by land owners, had a few injures to dogs over the years from old barbed wire and metal dumped in woods and pit holes.

Well done that man, how lucky you dropped that bird just here or the outcome could have been very diferent.

Yes and fencers still insist in putting two strands six inches or so apart on the top run.  Had my GSP get twisted once and it was the only time he ever bit me, but he was hurting. Fortunately no lasting damage.

One very lucky deer , or unlucky if you think how it got in that predicament in the first place .

Another case of being in the right place at the right time .

Yes it was the top 2 wires the top one quite thick we couldnt prize them apart with branches we had to cut the top one. No idea how long he was there quite a remote place too probably would have died .soon as the top wire gave he was off with a limp.we were worried about those antlers catching us but he was calm
