just adding on a couple or so pics..........i will have to shape the scales up using a metal file...the wood is so hard it cuts like a soft metal...so i started at the thick end....to get the shape...then i will sand it down and rivet it using bronze rivets and then polish it on the machine ...and it should start to bloom...........

Looks great!

i like it as the metal work although cleaned up still has a 100 years of wear on it...left all the scratches and dents in it....:good:

2 bronze rivets on each scale..........the other holes are for the leaf spring....there is a sequence to putting it together............what i have done is thinned the leaf spring out a touch as it was too strong..its slick as snot now....

chamfered the backs of the rivet holes to allow the rivet to expand into it....then filed it off............the other scale (wood) is 99% done...i will finish it off once it is all together........

just getting to the last stage of riveting...2 to do now........i have used a 2.5mm steel rivet for the spring pivot point................i will clean it ...sand it....set the brass pommel in..(bit of work to do on that yet as the casting is poor)....then wire wool the whole knife and just rub some oil in it....dont think i will polish it ...as the natural wood feels so nice....
