    Dear Complainant
Complaint in respect of general licences GL04, 05 and 06
I am writing with regard to your formal complaint about Natural England’s approach to the
changes it has had to make to general licences GL04, 05 and 06.
Natural England operates a three stage complaints procedure but in view of the seriousness
of the issue and the number of similar complaints we have received we escalated your
complaint directly to our Chief Executive as a Stage 3 complaint. Our Chief Executive has
responded via a piece on .gov.uk explaining our position on General licences and the next
    steps.

We are continuing to work to address the issues arising from the changes we had to make
but because our Chief Executive has considered your complaint at stage 3 this is now our
final response. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of our investigation then should you
wish to you can now go through your MP to put your complaint to the Parliamentary and
Health Service Ombudsman to consider. See https://www.ombudsman.org.uk/

The page on the Ombudsman's website that is linked below gives a helpline number which
you can call if you have any questions on the process or requirements at this stage. It also
provides a link where you can check who your MP is should you need to.

    The helpline number is 0345 0154 033.

    Yours sincerely

Same. I do think it was beneficial that we did write to complain as they acknowledge the volume of complaints receive. But of course in itself it has not achieved anything, as they have closed the case on it.

Might well be , but it only took the man above and a couple of others to bypass all the main shooting organizations and put us in the position we are now in with no end in sight .

I think we are all reeling in shock at the way this has been sprung upon us. We are all responding in exactly the same way by stating the obvious facts about the crop damage , risk to the vulnerable nests of this current breeding season.  We are trying to appeal to anyone who will listen by using the argument that our contribution  in predator and vermin control is vital to the countryside and wildlife. We seem to be forgetting that Packham and his cronies are not bothered too much about the natural predation of wildlife or crop protection. Their main objective is the abolition of  Shooting live quarry of any type for sport. I watched an interview where Piers Morgan laid out some reasonable questions regarding the present ban and the effect it would have on farming and breeding birds. Packham was quite disingenuous in his response, stating that it was not intended to prevent farmers from protecting their crops and he even acknowledged that some predator species needed to be controlled , but the purpose of the ban was to prevent people shooting birds for enjoyment!  This is the whole nub of the matter. It is OK to carry out certain methods of control as long as you are not doing it for pleasure!       The attack is on Sporting Shooting of any kind, including Driven Grouse,  Driven Pheasant ,Partridge etc.  Abolition of the pursuit of any live quarry at all is their goal and they are using their connection with the BBC as a platform to further their  mission.  When this was pointed out to him by the Piers Morgan interviewer, he shuffled in his seat and claimed  he doesn't actually work for the BBC but is called on to make programmes as he has specialist knowledge about the subject.  Just as a point of interest, when did you last see a BBC programme which showed Shooting Sports in a positive way?  The BBC are as anti-shooting in their own stance. If you enjoy shooting you are under attack and it is more than a few bunny huggers you are up a against, this is a politically motivated campaign.
