Absolutely Unbelievable

Just heard on the news that Corbyn is promoting the idea, obviously to win the younger votes, that a minimum wage of £10/hour should be for youngsters of whatever age. So a school leaver would immediately earn this irrespective of experience etc.

A person with a slimmer grip on reality I`ve yet to hear.

My only hope is that his Marxists views are not taken too seriously as obviously such a person in power will bankrupt this country within a twelve month.

I think some American states have done similar.

Totally devalues the point of working hard to up your career, if some jackass is going to earn similar money for microwaving a burger.

I doubt any skilled profession is going to go up proportionally.

You can promise the world if you never have to deliver!

You are being a bit generous OB. With Diane Abbot on hand to help and with her qualifications in higher maths, I would suggest 6 to 8 weeks max, is nearer the mark !

In addition, he will not have to find the extra money; businesses will - and he hopes to ruin them (they are owned by his hated capitalist foes, who have got where they are through hard work - another thing he and his cronies hate.

What will in fact happen is that unemployment among the young will rise, because businesses will not pay that sort of wage for inexperience.  Labour always has been the party of unemployment.  Every recent period of Labour administration has left office with unemployment higher than when they took office.  Keeping people unemployed and on benefits makes it much easier to get them under control and to vote Labour.

The problem that always happens with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money to spend.

So a working 17 year old, single young person living with their parents, will take home the same money (the £10 per hour minimum wage!) as a twenty something with a mortgage, a wife and a couple of kids to support?.........yea right!!

And an employer is gonna pay a school leaver with no knowledge or experience of anything £10 per hour? To do what? Sweep up and make tea!......ain't gonna happen!

The blokes either an idiot or a liar....or both?

But at least there will be 250,000 extra police at £30 a go

Don't forget that at £10 an hour new police officers will be working on 40p above minimum wage.  £19k starting pay for a 40hr week. And they need degrees to join now as well so another deduction (student loan) ontop of the 12% they pay for pensions.

Or they could work in Tesco stacking shelves at at £15 an hour with all the school leavers and not have 30k debt safe in the knowledge comrade corbyn will make other unaffordable claims to continue his Marxist gravy train.
