concentrate low down in the hedge ...or in a conifer tree....they are sooo small ..i see them regular here...always low down where the wrens are usually

Other way round in my garden, when I've seen a Goldcrest its up in the pine tree, really funny little birds, got very excited the first time i saw one.

Not sure why folk would be bothered having pigeons in there gardens? The magpies do strut about some though!

Including one with a red chest that's been about for a while

that goes cheep cheep cheep on and off all day.

can't imagine you haven't identified a robin? So is it a bullfinch? Black head.

Where I work its surrounded by houses with big gardens

There are regular wood pigeons, doves, black birds, magpies

the odd crow and other birds that I don't know .

Some of the woodies and doves come quite close.

My guess is that it is a cock Chaffinch.

I have been out at daybreak recently and the dawn chorus has been magical.

There are no magpies in this village. There will be a perfectly good reason for that.

It's usually far away like at the very top of a tall pine tree but it's got a loud cheep, I'm not sure if it adds a bunch of twittering after its cheeped for a while or if it's another bird joining in.
