la bala
I have just got home from Duxford. What a great day seeing so many Dakotas in one place at one time, a sight i will never see again. The sight and sound of all those WW2 planes was fantastic. The weather wasnt up for the Red Devils to parachute in was disappointing, but still a great day. Lets hope the weather is good for the 250 paratroopers who are dropping out of those planes over the D Day landings.
Brodie
For those hoping to see them in Southend on Sea area the Echo newspaper website says a route change means they will no longer fly over the pier but over the airport and Westcliff. The Echo website, and newspaper, is not always very accurate in its reporting however. Plus the weather could effect routing I guess. panoma1
I watched the whole flight, first 2 fighters, spitfires I assume (they were at distance over the sea) riding shotgun, then the Dakotas in ones, two's and threes flying low over Eastbourne and out to sea, I was standing by the bandstand on the seafront.....they were 2/3 hrs later than scheduled.......but it was a magnificent sight.
