figgy
Depends what you want it for. If for the field game shooting a 30" standard stock fitted to you will be fine Clay shooting the adjustable stock is more the norm and 32" tubes. But a 682 gold e is the clay shooting version of the gun.. If for both game and clays the first option is best in my opinion.

New to the sport and it’s been suggested to me several times the silver pigeon is the best place to start.

Rake aboot
I've just bought a Browning B525 sporter new for £1500. What I would saythough is don't buy any gun till you've handled one and tried a few for size. No point recommending a silver pigeon if your hands are like spades and you have 4ft long arms. figgy
Go to your local ground and ask people with guns you like and may buy if you could have a hold and see what you like. Getting some lessons from a good coach will help you to know what fits you. Buy a good condition used Beretta or Browning and you shouldn't loose much if you decide to change in future. Lloyd90
You’ll be able to pick up an older base model silver pigeon for less than £1,000. Try to get pre- 2000’s.
