Teresa May has easily topped a poll to name our worst Prime Minister.

She has some equally contemptible competitors, for various reasons, but who does the PW massive think should receive the dubious accolade, and why ?

For me, Brown and Blair did damage to this country, but I'd vote for Cameron - he stirred up probably the biggest political crisis we've ever seen........then ran away from it.

hello, i would not say TM is a bad Prime Minister but this Goverment has been, Blair will go down in history of taking the UK in to an illegal war and Brown selling all our gold reserves, as for Cameron, i do wonder why he decided to give the EU vote and not be part of the proceedings before doing a runner

Really cannot add anyone different to those mentioned. Brown makes my skin crawl. Blair typical Socialist...never wrong.  Mrs May took a poisoned chalice from Cameron, who I wouldn't trust to boil an egg and she couldn't hack it having never done a proper job in her life.   As for replacements:hmm:not a lot of choice is there?

Blair, for Iraq but it’s only luck that Cameron isn’t along side him. Before my time, but what about Eden and the Suez debacle?

I was going to mention Eden; at least as big a liar as Blair.

Apparently Cameron has written his biography; some wag had aptly tweeted ‘Will the hardback be spineless also?’ 👍

Mrs May did no favours to the Police Forces as Home Secretay, in my opinion .

And anyone else’s.

And was it not Sadiq Khan who only last week said that she had single handily destroyed the police force in this country so causing many of the current problems.

Women has always been an rrr’s.

After Blair I would probably also vote for Cameron.

However, he was pretty quick in Prime Ministers question time when that obnoxious little man Bercow had an announcement before proceedings got underway and said -:

" I`ve a complaint to make. Someone has driven into my car in the car park and not left a note admitting it. I am not happy"

To which Cameron replied

"If you`re not happy, then which one of the seven dwarfs are you ?"

Good reply I thought.

I think history will be kinder to Mrs May, as the realisation grows that she faced a near-impossible task. The poll was taken just as she was finally done for...........

Not the case for B-liar, however, whose reputation, if anything, has plumbed new depths, with the passage of time.

Pity Dianne Abbott wasn`t in charge. She was going to put thousands of extra police on the streets for £3 a week :whistling:

For me it`s Tony Blahh. I would like to see him walking up the steps of the Hague.  Teresa as has been said,  inherited the poisoned chalice. She had no chance with the MP`s she had to choose from (voted in by us the public),   to make any kind of a half decent cabinet.  There are no Heavy weights in Parliament any more. You can`t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

As the question was about the Worst Prime Minister, I will ignore what she did in the Home Office.

Cameron for wrecking the country to save the conservative party

Thatcher for selling off our industry for short term gain

Brown for selling of our gold reserves for no money

Bliar for going into war to change the countries leadership & that in turn, spawned isis & starting the PC movement we all now suffer for

Bliar because of his personal agrandisment at the expense of the country.

Cameron, he divided the country because of giving Scotland independence in all but name in order to head off Scottish independence then dividing the country by holding the EU referendum in order to try and head off UKIP then running away. He single-handedly did more to divide the country than even Maggie.

I'm no supporter of the con-servatives but Theresa May never stood a chance because they were left with a poison chalice situated on a radioactive island in the middle of a crocodile infested swamp by Cameron.

Fair points, and ones I’d be prone to agree with.

Major and Blair - Both, had they given us a referendum on Maastricht and Lisbon respectively, would've caused to the EU to have a long hard think about its more Federalist policies, and likely avoided the present mess we're in now.  In other words, voters rejecting either treaty in referendum would likely changed the direction of travel of the EU, and maybe even given us the more two-tier membership that would suit the UK.  As Neil Kinnock said at the time of Lisbon - "No the British Public shouldn't have a vote on it, they'll say no!"  Exactly the point old bean.

Remember the EU referendum was a manifesto commitment in 2015 - one which clearly was desired, as vast swathes of the country who had never voted conservative did so on the quiet.  Ed Milliband's response to this on the campaign trail was "No, we think the common market referendum in 1972 was enough"....

But on reflection...Major.  Not only did he sign up to Maastricht, no questions asked, but he presided over Black Wednesday and was too busy in meetings to deal with it, but also the worst rail privitisation deal ever...One nationalized company runs the tracks and private companies run the services?  There's a reason nobody else in the world does that!

Very valid comment about Blair. Time has a funny way of changing your perspective.

Brown also has a lot to answer for.

John Major was an accidental PM and I feel the same about May. No real inner strength and bowed down to the Whitehall Big Boys too readily. Not natural leaders.

Cameron tends to fly a bit below the radar because he ducked out early.

May faced a very tough, almost impossible task but made it far worse because she just faffed about for so long and pushed the same broken deal. She didn't listen and that was her downfall in the end. I can't feel sympathetic towards someone who agreed a naff deal and then tried again and again to force it through by telling us that she knew best and was very `passionate` about it. Lots of words backed up with very ltitle substance. She's done a lot of damage to the Tory party.

Edward Heath.

Took us into the 'common market' on a lie.

John Major.

Stabbed Thatcher in the back when she started to resist the goons in Brussels.

Tony Blair.

An absolute **** of the first order.

Dishonourable mentions for Brown, Cameron and May.

If I had to pick one for the drop it would have to be Blair, followed very, very closely by Major.

hello, do not forget the 3 day week and miners with Heath, now Major once said, LETS GET BACK TO BASICS, yea we know what that was dallying with Edwina, and i mention Teflon Tony and his disappearing bombs, now we all know it was a ruse to go to war with his buddy in the USA, defining the deaths of 1000s of innocent men/woman/and children as collateral damage , not forgetting many of our armed forces.

May shouldn’t have taken the job if she didn’t believe in Brexit, but once she did she should have worked with the leavers in her cabinet to work a deal out.
