LHallMaxus
Hello, been looking at a lot of knives now for skinning don’t want to spend a fortune up to £100 has any one got any recommendations?
Duckandswing
I’d go for anything by Mora and invest in a separate gut hook if you think it’s needed. Mora knives really are a bargain and cheap enough to lose.

Under a tenner, can get razor sharp, whats not to like 👍
rimfire4969
Have a look at Hennie Haynes website. Pure knife porn. You should be able to find all you need there. My favourite make is Fallkniven, but I would also check out Spyderco, Sog, EKA, Boker in fact the list is very long. As people have said before and lots like Mora knifes and there is not a lot wrong with them, but I would rather something a bit more special. bornfree
We always used victorinox fibrox knifes in the slaughterhouse. Know idea of the cost of them
Walker570
I have a BOKER folder which has a nice shaped blade for skinning. Had it 25yrs or maybe more and just a couple of wipes on a steel turns the blade into a razor. I also have a full set of Victorinox which include a skinner, great knife but I almost always turn to the BOKER.
washerboy
Victorinox are brilliant, you just need a friend who works in your local chicken factory.. That's how I came across mine and had them 20 years
DUNKS
There are many knives prettier, "some are even beautiful." But for sheer value and quality MORA every time.
Dougy
Use what the pro's use. Victorinox skining knife from butchers supplies, dont bother with bling use tools made for using not looling at.
Zedthou
If you've never used a ball-tipped knife i'd seriously recommend you try one,for gralloching & opening up the legs etc they're unbeatable, they do the job in seconds,i use a Gerber but there's one or two other brands out there,Mora & F. D*ck for example. Edited June 11, 2019 by Zedthou
