Shooting in Derbyshire

Recommended Posts

I’m accompanying Mrs T to Eyam for a week in a month or two and I wondered whether there was anywhere to have a bang at some clays not too far away. I’m leaving the gun at home, so hire of a club gun required.

Thanks all.

Premier guns - doveridge

The boar - glossop

Cold springs - buxton. You would have to ring and see if they could arrange gun hire

Joe Neville’s shooting school, Tansley near Matlock.

Joe is an England team coach and a typical Derbyshire farmer.

You would have to book a lesson for this one.

Unlikely to hire at either the Boar or Cold springs.

2 club shoots alternate Sundays a Brasington but you would need your own gun.

Cockett Farm near Mansfield, and Lowes Lane near Derby are other commercial shoots.

I'd take my gun with me, strip it down and lock some parts in the boot.

Eyam clay club

For a good breakfast for less than a fiver i would go Doveridge., Open comp days can get busy, its a good layout with some challenging birds. (for me anyway)
