I see into days Hebrides News that a cull on Greylag is to restart and continue until the end of the year in the Western lsles and Orkneys, this everdently is to assist Crofters and Farmers who’s crops are being devastated by the ever growing population of Greylag.

Anyone in the area who can throw more light on the subject.

There have been organised culls of greylags here for several years.. mostly in the the Uist's.. resident birds have been blamed for damage to crops whilst school playing fields are rendered unusable due to droppings.. in the past licence was issued out of season, if you could prove damage and had taken other steps to deter the geese. [much like your GL down there]..numbers are down here in Harris,  due I suspect to the cull in the southern isles. I am enrolled in the scheme which also allows me to sell goose meat in my business if I wish

Ive only done goose bourguignon so far which went down well,  but do use a lot of rabbit and occasionally venison.. recipes welcome

Nice. I think there can be few more recipes that could be used to publicise games. Geese are particularly meaty, sausages and burgers are nice eating ( I like sausage casserole) or snacks like jerks... Just thoughts thou LOL
