Been offered one of the above, seems to be good nick, has Nikon flip up caps and tube looks pretty good, very slight marks when the old rings were but can barely feel it.

Was going to put it on a .243 used for deer mainly, seems a decent quality scope, the guy wants £250, does that seem about right? Has got the original box and instruction as well.

Anything I should double check with before I part with any money???

Are you ever going to use 2.5x mag? Most people complain that they want at least 6x for rimfire etc 🤷‍♂️

What do you use the 243 for and what kind of ranges etc?

I must admit I've understood such low settings being put on some adjustable magnification scopes, don't even know why they bother with 4x, might as well start off with 6 as a minimum, those who really really need a low mag for close night work can just buy one to suit.

I was out shooting magpies recently and as it got to dusk I could still see plenty well enough with the scope set on the usual 10x, taking it down to 6x didn't make enough difference to matter.

I know the Americans like the range as they had cover huge distances over different terrains, in dense woodland or brush they want a low mag for short quick shots.

I doubt many Hunt like that over here and most shots are on non-moving game as ranges of 50-200 yards.
