A plan

Recommended Posts

With the continuing success of a few members reducing the grey squirrel population I was wondering if we could not organise a day or better still a weekend where everyone, all members or as many of us as possible plus friends, syndicates etc etc.,  is encouraged to make an effort and be out in the woods killing these verminous creatures.  Thoughts ?    A ground hog day for grey squirrels.

coming to a cinema near you

X rated over 65's only....

It sounds like a great idea. We organise squirrel hunts here sub 12 air gun only. Trouble is no one is patient enough to wait them out.

We take part in a group cull for Staffordshire and most are shot with .22 l/r or shotgun rather than air ,probably as the covers as thick as guts and u can bump foxes this way atb

sorry ...dont mean to make light of the squirrel problem...........i have 4 small spinneys on my patch....the largest being about an acre..........it took me 9 years to totally clear the squirrels.............nature abhores a vacumn.......the resident population was about 8 or 9..........but as soon as you had cleared them more would move in.............havnt seen a squirrel in the spinneys for 2 years now

anyone clearing a wood..is undertaking a life long task....and the only way to make head way is excactly what walker is proposing.........

Might have missed the boat this year Nev, people having birds delivered soon means lots of places will be out of bounds, shame everyone wasn't out when they couldn't shoot pigeons for a few weeks.

Things always slow up during summer, at least for most people, keep stacking them Nev 👏👏
