washerboy
I remember a hardware shop in Thorne that sold everything from razor blades to shotgun cartridges, the beams in there had traps hanging from them along with snare wire.

There was a also a hardware shop in Penzance which had the smell of paraffin and mothballs. Every conceivable item available served by (what looked to me at a young age) old men. They even had their own named shotguns.
