I have a family of them, see them regularly (and their doings) they use my garden because it suits them, they have already made holes under fences to allow access to neighbours.  They like water, this one was drinking out of a seed tray full of rainwater in my garden, he is virtually in the middle with his back to the camera standing on his rear legs, leaning into seed tray to drink, very dark but you can just make it out!  I do nothing to encourage them, they simply seem to like what I have!

Small hole at the bottom of your fence, to allow access.

Good quality cat food, most fruit and veg (raw). Water to drink - don't give them milk, they are lactose intolerant !

The good Lady has two African pygmy hedgies and does all she can to help the wildies..............smashing little creatures, who deserve our help.

I didn't think you bothered with the hose pipe any more! Just got rid of the internally filtered red wine!:whistling:

Word has it that since the cull on badgers in and around Somerset there has been an 'explosion' of our little spiny friends in the area, which tends to shoot down the badger cuddlers assertion that they have no effect on 'hog numbers.   Hope the other on going culls have the same result.

A chap at work and his mrs run a small hedgehog rescue at their house. Feed them dog food mixed with goats milk. They’re up to 9 residents at the moment.

Brilliant, good to see someone helping the little chaps out rather than promoting the Badgers!

I built a Hog House to put food in (wet dog food and some dry cat food - dont' use anything fish based apparently). Water outside in a bowl.

They seemed to like it and the only issue I had was nextdoors cat getting in, so I made the entrance a bit smaller and that stopped it.

"Leave out foods like tinned dog or cat food (not fish-based) and crushed dog or cat biscuits. Specialist hedgehog food is also recommended and can be bought from wildlife food suppliers. Never feed hedgehogs milk as it can cause diarrhoea; instead provide plain, fresh water in a shallow bowl."

According to the good Lady, fish based foods don't do them any harm, but make them smell very unpleasant.........

I can only quote what Google tells me! 😊

We don't see any since our neighbour dog proofed their garden and the HH motorway got closed. I miss seeing them.
