Those who attack BASC or other orgs for that matter  on open forums are not helping to protect and promote shooting. Think about it - those who oppose shooting will be delighted to see some of the posts on here by those having a go at the pro shooting Orgs like BASC. Put your thoughts and resources into supporting your chosen organisations

I am not against the proposition............but do we not already crowdfund via our membership subscriptions?

Yes, my thinking was that this action may place an unusually large burden on membership subs/income - it's not like we have faced these challenges every season.

Is my memory at fault again, or is there/was there not a BASC Fighting Fund from some time back that might just have the £ or two in the bottom of the bag still?

Dunno! But apparantly money from crowdfunding is unregulated and untraceable.....so can disappear into the ether, if the crowdfunder so wishes? Wasn't there a recent matter, where questions were asked about where the crowdfunding money, collected for the aborted private prosecution of Boris Johnson went?

Well said David! But i think a lot of people are frustrated because they haven't heard anything since the GL! And that a small new crowd funded protectionist lobbying group  like Wj  (a celeb and keyboard conservationists) can wield such power with the help of a small legal team and are even being listened to when it's part of there and others bigger agenda!   NB

Don't forget they have the ear and backing of the BBC and loud left wing press, sadly our orgs., no matter how they try do not get the coverage.

Avery gloated on his blog a while back that as NE conceded on the GL challenge they had to give them 35k costs which was added to there fighting fund?    NB

Yes, apart from anything else, the reason for the funding was changed from the initial Brexit cause to that of 'doing' Boris for his £350m - or whatever sum it was - which didn't go down too well with some who'd already contributed to the original objective.

That's what i meant by "others" YB! If we can see and know that our gov bodies must know that and more! There is no way they should be allowed to be involved in any Gov bodies or discussions to change any future reforms or legislation! They have shown the hand! Spread a lot of misinformation and lies! They have dismissed a lot of science and conservation work that doesn't suit there agenda! They trying to undermine a lot of good work done by conservation bodies that they not connected to and our shooting orgs! Basically saying they  don't like farmers game keepers or country folk! Along with getting away with labelling us as the "nasty brigade" on BBC Spring Watch Packham has said he "abores country tradition and country lore"! "working with game keepers would be like working with someone who had murdered a member of his family"!  In these P C times some would call that Trump style racism! Good job we a tough bunch!  Time us yokels got vocal!  NB
