Petrol forecourt etiquette

Recommended Posts

I once dropped into Morrisons to fill up the X3
Had to queue for quite a while but eventually got the rear pump.
The customer at the pump in front drove out so I decided to drive through and park next to the kiosk.
Meanwhile the guy waiting behind me had decided not to wait any longer and driven out onto the street and back in the Exit - only to find me now sitting next to the front pump with nowhere to go because he was in front of me and someone had also pulled in behind.
From the gesticulations and mouthed swear words I gathered he was not too happy having to reverse back out.
I mouthed back that I was actually trying to get out of his way...
Of course there was also a queue to pay so he was at the back of the queue when I was leaving.
He didn't respond to my little smile as I walked past but then I was about twice his size 🙂

Boils my ****!!

If I am at the pump I pay, then park, then shop.

I don't hold other people up because I'm not a ****.

When you sit there fourth car deep waiting to get to a pump and car number one's owner comes waddling out with bags of shopping it's difficult not to tell them how selfish they are being. And how the hell don't they notice the queue behind their car and realise what a prize ***** they have been. Tossers.

Pay at pump solves most of these problems.

I use a small jet garage first thing in a morning when it's nearly always empty

Gives me the right hump ,had to fill up in Petersfield the other year on a Sunday pm no pay at pump so had to go inside to find all the checkouts filled by people doing their weekly shop waited for at least 15 mins to pay ,when I said I only wanted to pay for petrol the cashier said “is that it “ ,that boiled my p#ss at that point I asked if they intended to sell food and fuel why  didn’t they have a till just for fuel payment , never been back there

That place is just down the road from me, I never go there any more as well it’s all ways grid locked with people shopping in there.

There's a post office at the one up the road near zeals. Now that's waiting. Can't have granny not collect her pension THEN go fill up her honda jazz and do her shop. All the while parked at the pump...

I would do some door knocking round the local farms, you may get lucky and carry on with your moaning about him taking up your space at your fuel pump.

You never know you may get lucky, he may ask you to do a bit of vermin control around the farms.
