Advice wanted on gunsafe swap

Cut long story short i like manny on here have a few guns .my semi auto the old mans sxs my over under  a 410 norica bolt my grandads old 410 folder and a garden gun and my .22 they all have there place and i use them all regular .anyway my safe is big enough to put them in with a couple upside down and a mate of myn just got himself a nice big 8 gun safe that dont fit in the place he wanted to put it amd he offerd me a straight swap for myn (i would be getting the better end of the deal as myn is a cheeper safe amd smaller than his ) .i wouldnt mind a bigger safe and i been thinking about getting a pump action of another mate (50quid bargain) anyway if i take my safe out can i fit the other one or do i have to get the  plod out to inspect it before i can keep my guns in it ?(if so where do i keep them?)   Has anyone done this recently .thanks oz

Just swap them over, security is your responsibility.

Tightchoke is correct. If you wish, you can tell them afterwards, but no necessity.

No I done the same thing , never told them , when renewal came round I did mention it to the feo who called , bigger safe same spot on wall same fixings he was fine with it

As said don't worry about it, in 5 years I doubt the feo will remember what safe you had before

I fitted a bigger one a few years ago. Phoned the then firearms officer  . He said thanks for letting him know , said he would check it next time he was passing .
