Westley
Looking to buy a rotary multi tool, has anyone experience of these ? Am I better paying £50 plus for a Dremel, or are the £20 variety on Fleabay any good ? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Snoozer
Owned both and still have my Dremel.
bigroomboy
Foredom (knockoff) everytime if you are serious. So much better than a dremmel and these seem to work fine. Westley
Thanks Guys, I just missed out on a Lidl one recently. I was in hospital and sort of forgot about a multi whatsit. The Foredom looks great but is likely to see me out. There looks to be a middle of the road Draper at £30 worth considering.
vmaxphil
I found the battery ones totally gutless stick to mains

I've decided that's the basis on which I buy tools now. Buy once cry once. As for the Draper, I've never used or owned a Draper power tool that wasn't absolute garbage. Certainly the oscillating multi tool I bought is an NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) generating machine. .

Jbob
If the draper one is anything like the 18v drills I had back along stay clear of them. The drill proved to be absolute garbage and I feel bad as they where a gift from my dad.
ditchman
bought a cheap one off amazon....totally fine..........but when you buy cheap...the tools and bits you get with it are bloody awful....so you have to go to B&Q and buy some decent bits and pieces....... The foot pedal is a great asset Only gripe is the flexi shaft its not as good as the motor and if you use it at an angle it gets red hot at the motor end and eventually disintegrates into many very fast flying pieces. So I bought the real Mccoy Foredom one and it hasn't missed a beat yet. Edited August 6, 2019 by fatchap

I shoot with the guy most weeks, but did not know he had this for sale ! I thank you all for the advice and taking the trouble to reply.
