Well that was an anticlimax lol

Just a bit! 😀 I was expecting her to go on for ages!

What happened?

She basically said she would not tolerate a delay further than June, as it wouldn't be right for us to be eligible to vote in EU elections three years after voting to leave; there will be no second referendum, and then she went for a cuppa!

She IS a politician though, so it could all be a crock of poop. 🙂

Listen very carefully to what she said. As far as she's concerned there is no second vote but she is implying the choices for parliament are no deal, her deal or no Brexit.

There is currently no way for her deal to be approved in Parliament, Parliament has indicated it is not prepared to see no deal go through and so 27 member states agreeing to an extension or not is irrelevant. On paper it's a choice between no deal or the unthinkable (and the unthinkable is now being openly discussed as an option).

Oh I agree, there is massive appetite in parliament to block brexit, they have tried every trick in the book so far, so why would they stop now.

It appears comrade Corbin "spat his dummy out" at the cross party meeting he requested with May today, because Chuka Umunna was present! He left before it even started!........ So much for sorting a way out of the crisis he claims the country is in!.....his personal (and party) prejudices before the interests of the country.....yet again!

The choice is short extension her deal. When this fails she is gone and we go for long extension and GE and start again.

If Chukka Umunna belonged to Hamas or the IRA, there would have been no problem.

That's the trouble with Trots like Corbin, you are either with em, or agin em!..........they will have no truck with anyone who isn't part of, or doesn't subscribe to their political ideology............No middle ground!

Parliament. She cannot offer more than the small extension based on the vote. Parliament are likely to reject it so then she is toast and they then go for long extension.

they need to find a way to weasel it back in for a third vote first. If she's toast and resigns then who are "they"? a long extension depends on who replaces her. Either way she is in no position to offer any kind of extension, it's not down to her to decide.

She can't offer ANY extension, neither can Tusk.

It's entirely up to a unanimous council vote, as I said, a tall order!
