Garden Plinking

Hi all

I fancy buying a CO2 pistol for a bit of tin can busting in the back garden but can’t remember what the law states on this. We’re quite close to a main road and slightly overlooked so a bit unsure if it’s a good idea especially given the realistic look of many CO2 pistols these days.

Can anyone offer any guidance or advice please?

Its perfectly legal, whether its 'advisable' depends on your neighbours.
If they are sensible, go for it , if there are any issues, then its not something I would risk my ticket for.

It only takes one person to accuse you of shooting at cats, or birds, or to say a pellet has come over ect.

Go for it - what has it got to do with your neighbours? You are doing nothing illegal so if they want to waste police time let them - we pander far too much over what might upset others whilst we carry out a perfectly legal and harmless hobby. CID officer is my next door neighbour - we don't get on particularly well but I blatt away in my garden without even considering what she might think - mind you, in turn, her cats come every day and poop in my garden.
