Perhaps the scariest motion voted on at the conference, that is suggested as looking likely to be adopted as a manifesto pledge, was to extend freedom of movement beyond just that of EU member states; to allow all UK residents a national vote i.e. anybody of any nationality who happens to stay here; to give settled status to all refugees (and the vote) and to remove caps in immigration.

Only slightly behind on the scary scale that was a vote at conference was to implement policy to fix house prices and for mandatory purchase by the state of empty housing, i.e with no permanent residency.

I wanted to reply ,but I just don't have the words 😯.

That is all, how can I put it politely.... "chiroptera excrement crazy" and indeed scary!

Interesting. OK, as we pull back many of our armed forces personnel from overseas, there will be a reduction in overall numbers, but there remains a substantial number of overseas posts for government and government connected staff, many of whom have children of school age. To avoid interuption of their schooling - around GCSE exam time in particular for example - many parents take advantage of the private schools in the UK which specialise in offering places for these students who are also boarded and the rates subsidised by the Crown. There's going to have to be exceptions.

Of course there will; Senior Party members children for a start.

And therefore as they still exist, how long will it be before the student numbers revert back to the current level as the state system cannot cope with the increased numbers of students because as we will remain in the EU and to teach us a lesson our contributions will have been increased dramatically and we can't then afford more schools/teachers.

It really is testimony to what a complete SoS the Labour Party are that, given what a mess the Cons are in, they don't have them on the ropes.

Quite astonishing but, in the circumstances, very fortunate...

Did you watch any of their conference ?
A chimps tea party would have come out with more sensible policies !

Even the conference attendees were shaking their heads.

The best bit is maybe 90 % of them realise its just BS waffle to make the dumber voter think that they really can have an extra day off a week and get the same wages.

Or have a 35 k car loan interest free.

Surprised they didnt offer everyone a pet unicorn that ****s gold while they were at it.

I'm abroad so missed most coverage. Will catch up on QT over the weekend but Labour Party Conference - I'd rather lie dead in a ditch 😛

They could not go as far as promising the unicorns as they know they are the providence of hardline Brexiteers 🙂
