Ricko
My children (20 & 17) each have about £5,000 saved up. One is at university, the other will be in 12 months time. How does a Help To Buy ISA work and would it be suitable for them as a form of saving? Your answers are appreciated.
oowee
Take a look at Martin Lewis (money saving expert) he covers this topic in depth. A lot depends on what they want to do going forward.

Wb123
We haven’t recently looked but last time we did the limits on use meant we wouldn’t get the extra contribution. Depending on their circumstances though it might be worthwhile.

Tell them to blow £1500 a year and have a stinking good time before they have to settle down. On a more sensible note there are loads of bits on these - if I recall the guardian money actually did a good write up. From what I recall actually very limited in how they can be used. First property only and as long as the other party if a couple have never had a property
