roughshooter
Since the price increases in Vectan powders the go to budget powder for 12g seems to be Csb5. it has been in use for a year or two now so am wondering how everyone is getting on with it? clean burn, reliability, use in cold weather and other comments regards Graham
lksopener
Brilliant powder, reliable in cold weather. I drop 22.5gn for a 24 gram load and it’s fast and effective.

222mark
Don't expect it to be as good as Vectan AS. I couldn't get on with it at first. I now use it in 65mm reloads for an old 2 1/2" chambered English sxs and find it brilliant. 21grains behind an ounce of 6shot with a B&P wad. Its not as clean burning as Vectan powders though. I think we all miss the Vectan powders. I have been putting off trying the CSB5 but it is looking like the only sensible option. i could do with a few KG of Nobel 80 to tide me over for a year or two...... Guest cookoff013
i thought about reloading csb5 for 24g steel shells at HP pressures thats 900bar or so, with a wiggle room for pressure variation. i did the same with AS.

Head start for you here! I did try this that summer and it worked ok, but my preference for hyper speed in light steel 12 loads left me just trying it for the sake of science i never took it up as a serious hunting option for me. Guest cookoff013
That might have been the reason why i stopped thinking about it. Thanks .
