very nice they look the part.

Correx is very similar to the material used in 'For Sale' signs. I had a load of offcuts given to me. I've also made some out of Proplex which is a floor protector and is available from Wickes.

It's a bit thinner, so I joined two together.

How you sticking them in the ground??

I use strong wire, similar to coat hanger wire. It slots into the groves of the Correx and you can alter the angle to suit. The decoys don't look much up close, but from a distance, are excellent and have fooled many a Crow/Jackdaw.

They do look good as a flock. I wonder if you can laser cut correx? If so I may do this too, cheap to make but labour intensive and time is not my friend. Laser cutter is dirt cheap, I would alternate the “grain” of the internal ribs and laminate into 2-ply.

After marking out the shape with a template, it took me less than a minute to cut them out using a stanley knife. The Correx is thicker than Proplex but still easy to cut.

That’s not bad then, 1 min per decoy is ideal.

This is where I got the shape/s from.

The Proplex sheet is not corrugated, unlike the Correx, but I just stapled/stuck some wire on the bottom of them. They look nothing close up, but from a distance, are realistic, and have fooled many a Corvid, much to it's demise!

Perfect thank you. I think i will print, scribe the outline onto 3mm ply, jigsaw, sand then use that template to cut around on the correx. Is that what you did?

Yes, but I used a thick piece of plastic, as I didn't have any ply at the time.

I cut up a Harris fence panel as spikes, if you can imagine. two upright bits , and half a side width each side that way they sit on the horizontal with a spike for the ground and a spike to go in the Corex then they spin a bit .  Wish I could draw with a computer,  anyway they are about 15'' long with a little cross piece. (work well)

Those certainly make walking into remote situations so much easier than humping a bag of full bodies.  I was always a bit sceptical about making decoys larger than life until I witnessed some goose decoys in the USA which had to be four times the size of a goose and they worked no problem
