buying a holiday home.

Morning all,

myself and the mrs are thinking of buying a holiday home in Devon, to rent out and to use ourselves, we own a couple of other houses we rent out but thinking of a holiday let type of thing, just putting our feelers out regarding tax implications? has anyone any experience in the holiday letting game?  we would use a management company to take care of the cleaning/washing etc..

Fella I worked with sold his rented property after too many problem Tennant's and bought a nice holiday cottage, said best thing he's done.  More return and people tend to look after it better and are gone in a week or two. He and his wife use it during the quieter periods.

I have a place at the coast.  I wouldn’t rent it out because it’s to far away to check out.   Plus my job is hit and miss so I like have the option to jump in the car with the fishing rods and roll to the coast on a minutes notice.
