Old paper cartridges

Recommended Posts

I recently dropped on to some an assortment of cartridges and was wondering if they are worth anything as it would be a shame to waste them on clays!IMG_20191119_180651_zpsopshde4b.jpgIMG_20191119_180721_zpsabzqimzg.jpgIMG_20191119_180741_zps07ouyxoz.jpgIMG_20191119_180811_zps7e4yb5iv.jpgIMG_20191017_144731_zpsoaoqw7bw.jpgIMG_20191017_144721_zpsxfbh9pxf.jpgIMG_20191017_144120_zpskwxubvgn.jpgIMG_20191017_144015_zpsfjrcrexk.jpgIMG_20191119_181748_zpsj4n8qfip.jpg

Definitely using these, heard tales about flames from and ear splitting bangs!

AAAAAaaaaaaaagh  NOT the dreaded Baikal Record    !!   😯

I have used the rotweils they were very good in the day.I think they came in boxes of 100 with a carrying handle.

Baikals roar, kick and shoot flames and confetti but they did hit what you pointed at.

The others would suit collectors I would think.

I love seeing old cartridges they remind me of days gone when shooting was far simpler.

I have still a full box of Winchester rangers.Shame you dont get them any more.

Thanks chap, hard to believe clay grounds actually banned a cartridge though!

They were setting fire to the grass on rabbit stands

lots of them were loaded with a extra pinch of black powder for cold weather

Some clay grounds banned the baikal cartridge in the latter years

Many grounds throughout Kent and Sussex just banned any Eastern European Cartridges due to the much louder bang!

In hoping that their neighbours didn't go to the local councils with noise complaints which became very fashionable at one point late in the last century.

Hi

If you dont shoot them all, I would be really keen to buy an assortment of whats left.

I'm trying to start off a small collection. The Rottweil Specials and Baikals certainly bring back memories! Also interested in any of the paper carts.

First task will be to get them out. Its a mate of mine that sweeps old stock from dealers taking anything brought in when people pack up shooting.

Update about the Russian cartridges, the black Baikals weren't that exciting but I reckon they need drying out a bit as the barrels were filthy after using them.

The records were something else! Crazy recoil and the report alone probably broke the clays!

More likely temperature rather than dampness.
