Went  to a field Sunday and there was no pigeon but loads of crows surrounding it so I set up  the only place I could with the minimal kit I took I put 12 flocked pigeon shells out half upside down so the black was showing  as I have no crow decoys after about 30/40 mins a crow came over and I took it out and then did see any more come close over the next hour... my  question is  is decoying crow totally different was that one I shot a scout bird that I should have left and what are the do’s and don’ts the crow decoying

cheers

Just like with pigeon shooting, keeping still until the last minute is vital. Regarding decoys, you can buy Crow 'socks' that can be fitted over a pigeon decoy, or a Crow one that's started to shine.

I made some decoys using Correx floor protector, which I purchased from Wickes. They work well.
