Eco Antis at it again

A recent study of grouse moor management at Langholm moor in the Scottish Borders found the correct management techniques led to higher curlew, snipe and golden plover populations, and hen harriers. The Scottish fire and rescue service has said muirburn could also prevent moorland wildfires by reducing fuel from dry heather.

This is the second from last paragraph from that guardian link.. what bit doesn't the conservation group understand.. re-wild = a massive red deer cull [who will do this ? not the conservationist] wild fires that will burn all summer and the decimation of waders that depend on a moorland habitat.. these people are eco vandals

Unfortunately it’s only a matter of time before burning is stopped.

Joe public sees a moor burning = global warming (as people have been trained by the media).

I thought I'd heard/read that burning doesn't release all of the CO2 the plants have stored (in the ash maybe), then the new plants take in what's been lost, plus a bit extra, effectively?

I'd be interested to see how they could claim a CO2 increase if that were the case.

I do not believe it’s about heather burning, moor management, wildfires, conservation, hen harriers, wader breeding sites, water tables, flooding....it’s about stopping shooting!

I agree, you can't stop shooting on environmental grounds if its better for the environment than the alternative so you have to make up benefits
