This /\ He was always very fair about fieldsports. A genuine and honest man. What a shame we have lost him and now have Packham covering wildlife. Used to pass his place on the way up to my grandparents in Consett with my mother saying "That's where David Bellamy lives..." as we shot off up Medomsley bank, never really knew if it was his place as she didn't have much of a sense of direction. Very down to earth fella
Diver One
One of an extremely small number of people off the tele that I would have loved to go for a drink with. he just told the truth and explained things enthusiastically and that's what sparked my interest....along with Jack Hargreaves

Walker570
Sad sad sad.... I met him at the Natural History Museum in 2007 when I and our fishing club won the Wild Trout Trust Conservation Award, a gentleman of the highest order and as said, in the same mould as Jack Hargreaves, a true countryman. Attenborough was always the other way around. Bellamy really knew his stuff and was so much more passionate about every part of the natural world and always kept a love for British wildlife, which these days gets fobbed off with the likes of Packham!
