das
Possible vehicle strike. Driving over Blubberhouses moor a week ago and a pack of about a dozen or more grouse flew straight across the road with the wind in their tails. Somehow they all seemed to react very quickly and jinked round the car. I was really expecting a lot of bodies but the seemingly high quality of their flight saved them and me. MrPhantom
just read an update - latest thinking is they all hit the tarmac while avoiding a bird of prey. Seems unlikely to me...🤔 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7896281/Flock-200-starlings-dead-road-crashed-Tarmac-died.html

They seem to have the ability to swerve round a shot string also !!

Strangely the other day a few starlings were on a neighbours TV dish support. The local Sparrow hawk blasted in from nowhere, he missed, starlings did a loop and landed where they had been? Hardly a ruffled feather.

TIGHTCHOKE
Jeremy "Bloody" Vine was on about this at lunchtime on Radio 2, I wouldn't normally listen to him, but I was waiting while my car was MoT'd. Lots of people ringing in with odd theories, I struggle to see why the Welsh Police are wasting so much time on this issue!
