strimmer_13
Energizer ones are very good. Get them for about £15 in some supermarkets. Im on a cree cheapie of ebay, takes 2 18650 battery's, has a 100m beam but is completely useless as it sucks up the batterys is 20 mins. Im going back to the energizer as its normal batterys and lasts a hour or so.

rovercoupe
I have just gone over to unilite, sick of cheap and expensive ones failing so went for a industrial brand and so far very impressed, the beam pattern is fixed but very good hotspot in the middle and enough flood to see what is at the sides. They take aa or aaa batteries so no messing with 18650s some as cheap as £10 on eBay

johnsyboy1974
Fenix hp25r is the best one I’ve found, has a good beam if needed or flood, and also has a small red light which is just enough to see what your doing. Uses 18650 batteries and it’s rechargeable via usb https://www.veals.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000002.pl?WD=fenix&PN=Fenix-HP25R-41.html#SID=

Yes you could buy cheap, and then keep buying cheap, or buy one of these and have a quality bit of kit for 5 plus years.
