Air cylinders

Recommended Posts

Any restrictions or legalities with transporting air cylinders in your car?

The type of air cylinders that a lot of folk on the forum would use for their PCP air rifle

I strap mine down

1 to stop it rolling

2 so it don't break stuff

3 to stop it flying through the car in a crash as ive been in a crash where a battery in the boot snapped my mates neck

As a Technical/mixed gas diving instructor I was required to have a sticker on my car IF I was Instructing and carrying the gas for same. If it was for recreational /personal/not for monetary gain usage then I didn't need one!  Same gas, same explosion , same damage!

just saying

I just stick it the boot and tie it to the tie points in my boot. In a moderate head on a cylinder would rip out any strap or tie downs so its only in case of stopping it rolling around or a light bump it helps keep it in place.

Basic common sense.
