henry d
Locally we have had a few and pre Christmas we went to the botanical gardens in Edinburgh and that was excellent. Do you have any near you and what did you think?

strimmer_13
As its well established that i am anti Christmas, i got dragged to Stourhead Gardens for their lights which is just up the road. I've got to say for £18 a head I was gob smacked, how the hell could they justify that price ill never know, even my misses who loves it all, and been to every one for miles about said it was a waste of time. She went to longleats festival of lights as she's a season ticket holder as the boy loves it there (I just mope about wandering what most of the four legged things would taste like) and they put on a good show that did look amazing tbf. Also a local up the road does a good show where you donate to a kids charity and can walk around his garden. Danger-Mouse
These are a thing now? Pretty lights? Yeah they are. Would I venture out and pay to see them? Nope. But hey if they're your thing, then go for it.

Nope. But hey if they're your thing, then go for it. I don't like the gaudy ones people drape their houses with, and find some lighting painful, but I believe it has to do with sharing time with people I love. Some weekend evenings my wife and I take the bus into town, then just walk around the riverside parks watching the way the lights play on the water and then go for food and drink. The Edinburgh botanic gardens was a freebie (well sort of) as my daughter's boyfriend got the tickets free, we all met up in Edinburgh spent a wodge on food and drink and had an unforgettable experience as we couldn't spend Christmas together. If you like light shows or want to have a great time with loved ones I thoroughly recommend it.
