Fowling Over and Under

A Hatsan Escort!

It's a long story Farrier.   I am 80 years old and have been fighting glaucoma for years.   Right master eyed and right handed.   Always shot with both eyes open.   However, now my right eye has got so bad that the left has taken over.   I have shot rifles left handed for the last two years but persevered with the shotty.   Now things have got worse and I am left with the choice to shoot left handed or give up.   I'm was not too worried about loosing the game shooting but I am not ready to admit defeat and have to give up the fowling.   That is my pride and joy sport.

I looked at and tried several guns and thought that I would go for an o/u that would do all things but in the end was pleasantly surprised by the Hatsan Escort 3".   It is light, cheap and has a three year warranty that will likely see me out.

Getting old is a ****** but the alternative is worse - Or so I have been told.

My Mirouku game gun is being altered by my gunsmith and my Benelli Black Eagle will be up for sale shortly unless my son wants it.

Shooting left handed is not easy after about 72 years the other way.

However, I have now managed to pull down two geese with the Hatsan so I am getting the hang of it slowly.

Not easy to strip down and clean after being used to a Benelli Black Eagle.
