I know there is a thread already running regarding this initiative from BASC but the title does not describe the content very well.

There are several negative comments in the other thread but if you have difficulty then surly the service that is offered can only be a good thing. Amongst the reasons for this offer is unwillingness to complete forms and charging high fees so it seems to me to be a positive move.

I would assume the BASC Doctor would read you medical notes which you can obtain freely from your practice and simply confirm you suffer from none of the notifiable illnesses which is all the Police are asking for.

I agree, BASC can’t force the police to follow HO guidelines or force GP’s to honour the agreement they made with the HO regarding their input into firearm licensing!.....but they can get sympathetic GP’s to circumvent the disgraceful conduct of the police, and the refusal to cooperate and/or greed of GP’s!

Well done BASC!
