Centrepin
I remember him visiting the pubs in Aldershot in the 70s trying to recruit Para Reg guys to join him. Offered to buy them out of the Army. The few that went ended up either in prison abroad, dead, or desperately trying to rejoin.

He was in 1 Para and discharged for violent conduct. My Company 2ic was his Pl commander and remembered him as a violent psychopathic sadist and a nightmare to keep under control. Never came across him myself. I met Mad Mike in the Exchange, and again later in the rat pit, I think he was offering about £200 a day or week. Not that anybody ever got it. Browning is derelict now and has been for the last few years. It's just waiting to get redeveloped.
