I would love to see basc taking this case on and supporting this gentleman in a court case against the police. I think he deserves at the least a public apology. The local landowner may also have a case against the police for losses and damages incurred from not being able to protect his land due to the police preventing the lawful pest control taking place.

Like I have always said, police in this country are corrupt scum and basc are just legal thieves by taking your money and giving you no support when its needed.

have to disagree with the basc bit mate i was no fan of basc until i realised people are so scared of losing their tickets they don’t want to fight basc can’t make them fight but your bang on with the rest we are being black mailed with our tickets into letting bully’s push us around and the police are hell bent on taking everyone’s tickets

BASC, CA & NFU need to form an alliance and start black-listing snivelling MPs like Stuart Andrew. The fact that he is a militant member of the ‘LGBT+’ movement saddens me. A lot of folk into fieldsports and conservation assume that ‘LGBT+‘ are a threat to British heritage and way of life, sadly he is proving them right in this instance.

The most important thing is that the plumber did the right thing; kept his head, despite political persecution he has stayed civil to his attackers and stayed safe. We need to be at all times.

Shocking and indicative of what all field sports face.

If a shooter faces this harassment from the public and the police while legally controlling non indigenous pests, it shows that all of us on this forum could potentially face the same.

Totally agree.

Its frightening that the Police allow his family to be bullied.

I'm not sure what I would do in the same circumstances, my shoulders are broad enough,  but pick on my family and I bleed. I would be terrified of repercussions to my children and grandchildren.

This really does make me angry. The abuse of police powers is shocking as is the attitude of the MP involved. Some senior copper needs to lose his job over this.

I have written to my MP today on this matter and would urge PW members to do the same.

The shooter involved needs to be given every assistance possible. The poor sod is likely going to lose his business because of the lunatics who believe that Canada Geese should be protected. Shameful.

Is he a member of BASC ? If so they should be pulling out all the stops to assist him .About time all country sport enthusiasts were protected in law to stop anti's coming onto private land and disrupting their completely legal activities.I believe this is the case in several European countries .Boris please take note.

This in a nutshell 100%  agree.

It would seem that these people think that they have done nothing wrong.  It’s absolutely disgraceful how somebody going about their lawful business can be arrested for doing nothing wrong.  But all the time nothing is being done about it this sort of thing will keep happening  come on the Basc!!!
