oldypigeonpopper
hello, as above, what are the UK rules and regulations re Tariffs/Duty/Vat, this is buying in bulk not 1 offs like Ebay/Aliexpress,, do you have to be a VAT registered Company, all advice welcome, private PM if you wish, cheers
Retsdon
The UK rules and regs are EU rules and regs - nothing changes until next year. From a quick glance at this page I can't imagine importing should be too difficult. https://ec.europa.eu/trade/import-and-export-rules/import-into-eu/index_en.htm The kicker is that you will have to pay VAT on everything - goods, transport costs, even any import duty itself - a tax on tax! I imported fishing tackle into South Africa for a while, and that last bit used to get right under my skin. Unfortunately it seems to be standard practice everywhere. scobydog
Hi, My wife deals with China on a daily basis, her company pay between 3 and 12 % duty on imports dependant on what it is, she will check anything else out for you on Monday/ Tuesday. She said best way to get it here is to deal with a freight forwader based in China as it is usually cheaper than doing it from here. scobydog

figgy
New warrior by any chance 🤫 Trouble with a UK distributer is pricing and the resellers like gun shops. All want a cut so prices get where it's cheaper to order from China yourself. Edited February 16, 2020 by figgy
Retsdon
When I went to Myanmar a couple of years ago I basically refurnished all my saltwater fishing tackle direct from a Chinese manufacturer. I contacted them and asked if they would do a small order, and they said yes - they'd do it and label the contents as samples. So I asked them for a price list / catalogue and they obliged by sending me an Excel file with hundreds of products on it. I cut and pasted a bit to make an order sheet and emailed it back. They sent me a pro forma invoice that I paid up front, and they had the whole lot packed and air freighted within a week. Other than that I bought a bunch of stuff I wouldn't otherwise have done because it was so cheap, I saved a fortune. For example, I know for a fact that the exact reel I paid about 20 quid for retails for not much less than 3 figures in the UK. The same with the other stuff - rods, fly-tying materials, clothing....all way, way cheaper. By going direct you can cut out both the distributor and the retailer. It's a bit of a hassle but definitely worth it. The only problem, like I say, is that you can end up going a bit mad because everything is such good value. But that's fun too! figgy
Might be a bit of a wait. You'd think new warrior would look to have the full range stocked in Europe.
