just a heads up lads & lasses..

Last 4 days we've had numerous calls automated voice saying that £39.99 will be taken from my account on the 30th of this month ....

First error this month don't have 30 days and big error I don't have AMAZON PRIME

The message says to stop this and talk to an operator press 1 .

I'm presuming they'll then ask for your bank details .

The number that calls is

0037125893317

More likely upon pressing 1 you will be paying for an expensive phone call you are unaware of!

The phone number is rated as DANGEROUS on many search sites.

Been getting theses calls for two weeks now, we are getting around 6 or 7 a day, put the answer machine on now and they hang-up when they hear the recorded message, like TIGHTCHOKE said, when you press 1 you could be transferred to a premium rate number and you will only find out when you get your bill.

Doing a 1471 to get the number we have found that the number is different every time they call.

Not had Simon or Sarah from Microsoft security call for a while, I used to love winding them up but the wife as told me to stop it because she thinks all these calls are my fault for winding them up.:whistling:

You wife is quite astute!

My wife has had a lot of dealings with her doctor and hospital in recent weeks and both use withheld numbers when they call. We pointed out to them that a lot of people will not answer withheld numbers and a lot of modern phones can be set to block withheld numbers. They both replied that if they make their numbers accessible they get a lot of calls from people trying to jump the queue for appointments etc.

You can't win.

Vic.

I've received 3 texts apparently from EE (which I have a mobile account with) which said the following.   EE: we were unable to process your latest bill. In order to avoid fees, update your payment information via .(the https address with a 318 in it).  I typed it out earlier but as soon as I put a full stop at the end, a warning message came up.  What alerted me to this scam initially was 1) Not personally 'addressed' to me.  2)  I got 3 texts in 3 minutes. 3)  Three different mobile numbers).  The numbers all had 44 at the beginning, which is the UK dialling code.  Please be aware, folks....there's some lowlife scum trying to rob you!
