Vince Green
I think both options (culling and vaccination) are extremely optimistic. Badgers are very secretive and how on earth DEFRA think they are going to find them all is beyond me.

And the badger protection brigade will continue to blame Farmers, land management, and gardeners totally for their demise.
oowee
There is no change in policy just a badly reported extract. The press release is about vaccinating cattle. The TB test required to identify a vacinated animal from an infected one is is not yet available, and neither is the vaccine. It also says in the release that culling will be supported if the epidemiology supports it as neccessary (just like now). All of this is in any case in the 25 year government strategy. spurs 14
This is ridiculous there are so many badgers about now , they have been on the protected list long enough , you only have to see how many are road kill ! Cars are the only predator they have ! , If they were removed it could be left to individual farmers and country people to deal with , quietly and away from the antis and any public gaze just like the old days , cattle farmers could clear their land and raise cattle free from tb
